We’ve added support for defining a custom overlay mask in the Cloud editor using the cloudImageEditor.maskHref option.
This mask helps users crop their images to meet specific upload requirements — for example, when preparing avatars, profile pictures, or documents.

Google Photos Picker integration updated

We’ve updated and verified our integration with the Google Photos Picker API for File Uploader, adhering to recent guidelines from Google. End-users will continue to enjoy smooth and secure uploads from Google Photos, with no additional steps required on your part.
Filter by MIME type

We’ve enhanced server-side MIME type filtering, giving you more flexibility to customize which file types can be uploaded. Now you have precise control to allow or block specific formats directly from the Dashboard.
Unsafe content moderation

Uploadcare now supports automatic image moderation, allowing you to detect and filter unwanted, or offensive images in real time. Enable the Scan images on upload toggle in the Dashboard to automatically review all uploaded images, and customize moderation by selecting specific content categories.
Camera modes option

We’ve added the cameraModes option, allowing users to capture and upload photos, videos, or both directly from their camera, with flexible mode selection.

Adaptive bitrate streaming

Uploadcare now supports optimized video streaming with HLS, delivering adaptive video quality based on device capabilities and connection speed. Upload a video and get an instant streaming link.
Uploads from Instagram deprecated

As of December 4, 2024, uploads from public Instagram accounts via File Uploader and jQuery Uploader are no longer supported. This change is due to Meta’s decision to discontinue the Instagram Basic Display API for external developers.
All other upload methods and sources, including Facebook, Google Photos, Dropbox, and more, continue to work as usual.
Analytics section updates

We’ve improved the Analytics section in the Dashboard:
- Overview tiles were added on the top of the section.
- A new period picker lets you filter data by 30, 60, 90 days or billing period.
- The graph of popular files has become a graph of popular URLs. Now, it shows transactions and warns about unoptimized distribution.
