Delivery

The Delivery part of the solution combines technologies that serve content to end users in a fast, responsive, and reliable way. You can use Secure Delivery and apply Transformations on delivery.

CDN

CDN is a basic delivery method and it's used as an underlying tehcnology in other delivery options as well. We refer to it as a manual method because you can control each content item individually.

Every uploaded file in Uploadcare has its own CDN URL with a UUID:

https://ucarecdn.com/85b5644f-e692-4855-9db0-8c5a83096e25/

On top of that, you can add URL directives: Image transformations, Intelligent features, and others. Directives apply at the moment of a client's request (for images). Source files stay intact.

Adaptive Delivery

Adaptive Delivery removes frontend tasks such as creating responsive images and it works as a set-it-and-forget-it option. In other words, it's a fully-automatic way of delivering and adapting images. It applies resize, compression, content-aware crop, lazy loading, and other configurable parameters to increase page load speed and adapt content for all devices.

Include Adaptive Delivery JS library and substitude src parameter with data-blink-uuid for images uploaded to Uploadcare:

<img data-blink-uuid='6493f2d1-a476-427f-bcd5-94330cc02837'/>

and with data-blink-src for images on your hosting:

<img data-blink-src='https://storage.example.com/logo.png'/>

Proxy

Proxy allows you to deliver files stored on your hosting with Uploadcare CDN and use delivery options such as Transformations.

This way, you don't need to upload files to Uploadcare beforehand. After you enable Proxy and get your Endpoint, concatenate URLs like this:

https://yoursite.ucr.io/https://yoursite.com/assets/image.jpg

and the file will be delivered with our CDN.

Note: Adaptive Delivery uses Proxy when you use data-blink-src. That option is automatic, while Proxy allows you do fine adjustments to external images individually.
